heathrow airport's new terminal 5 will open to the public on march 27th. the building is designed by richard rogers and will be the new home for british airways. to accompany the opening, six artworks will be installed throughout the terminal, curated by artwise curators. these six pieces are being conceived by troika, el ultimo grito, christopher pearson and oona cully. 'cloud' , the troika installation is 'a five meter long digital sculpture whose surface is covered with 4638 flip-dots that can be individually addressed by a computer to animate the entire skin of the sculpture'. the result is a shimmering form which was meant to mark the transition between the terminal's shopping area and the lounge. |

A Green Environmental Tower - Dubai 
The Dynamic Architecture building, which will be constantly in motion changing its shape, will be able to generate electric energy for itself as well as for other buildings. Forty-eight wind turbines fitted between each rotating floors as well as the solar panels positioned on the roof of the building will produce energy from wind and the sunlight, with no risk of pollution. The total energy produced by this inbuilt ‘powerhouse' every year will be worth approximately seven million dollars. |
